Livity was founded by a passionate, driven person who witnessed at a young age just how devastating the effects of climate change can be. An avid yoga enthusiast, our founder worked to establish a new yoga lifestyle brand that would focus on the health and wellness of the self, in addition to the health and wellness of the environment.

Today, Livity is a powerful sustainable yoga brand with a wide customer base who are united under the common goal of protecting themselves and protecting the environment.

I grew up in Jamaica. From a young age, I was forced to see the damage that our natural coral reefs were subjected to. I’d find plastic caught in the reefs, and I’d see how the warming oceans changed the ways in which the reefs would look. Climate change was clear then – and it’s clear today.

Livity began in 2016 when I started practicing yoga and was chasing after a healthier lifestyle to help me treat a medical condition that I was struggling with. I was focused on increasing my mindfulness by adopting health & wellness practices that allowed me to become more aware of how I was treating my body.

I became obsessed with the things that I was putting into my body – and even on it. I began rigorously researching the materials and ingredients that made up the things that I used each and every day. And I was utterly horrified at what I saw. From there, I made myself a promise that I’d begin to pursue a safer and more natural alternative to these harmful products.

In 2018, I realized just how harmful the yoga mats that I’ve been using for so long were to my body. I learned that these mats were made from hard, non-recyclable plastics that either end up polluting the environment or toxify our own bodies with prolonged use. It was in that very instant that I decided to pursue my drive to find a safer and more natural alternative.

When I first began seriously exploring Livity as a brand, I knew that I wanted to do something that no other yoga brand was doing. So, I set out to create a yoga mat that was better, safer, and more long-lasting than the conventional yoga mats found on the market. And at the same time, I wanted it to seamlessly align with the concept of practicality and environmental consciousness.

In 2019, I launched Livity – a name influenced by my Jamaican heritage. Today, the products that we make are specifically designed to combine durability with functional aspects of everyday use, so that we can work harder to make a positive social impact on the world.

Today, I’m proud to say that it’s not just about offering better products – it’s about creating a better world. Together, we can make the world a better place, and we can make ourselves better too. It all starts with making a change, and Livity is here to help you make that change.
